Heated trailer
A load that leaves Dallas at 25 °C arrives in Montreal at −25 °C. From November to April, a heated trailer is not a luxury: it is what keeps your liquids, paints, adhesives or beverages from arriving frozen.
Also called : heated van, freeze protection, protected service
An ordinary van is not insulated: its inside temperature matches the outside within a few hours. Anything containing water freezes, and many products never become usable again after thawing — paint that has frozen is lost, an emulsion separates, a can bursts.
A heated trailer keeps the box above freezing for the whole trip, including at a standstill. It does not refrigerate: this is freeze protection, not a cold chain.
Mention it when you request the quote. It is an equipment decision, not an option you add once the trailer is at the dock.
