Areas served
Western Canada
The West runs on the Trans-Canada and Highway 16. Four provinces and transit times counted in days rather than hours: this is an area where planning is worth more than speed.
What heads west: packaged goods, dry food, consumer products and warehouse stock. What comes back: palletized freight out of the distribution centres in Alberta and British Columbia. Over that distance the real variable is not mileage, it is whether a return load is available. That is where the carrier network makes the difference between a round-trip price and a one-way price.
A trip that long is measured in hours of service, not kilometres. A solo driver and a two-person team do not produce the same transit time, and the price follows. We say so at quoting time, with the date it actually implies.
The mountains impose their own constraint. The British Columbia passes (Rogers, Kicking Horse, Coquihalla) close without notice in winter and require chains for much of the season. We build those windows into the schedule we quote rather than discovering them on the road.
