Palletized freight
The pallet is the basic unit of road freight. Everything else — the price, the equipment, how long loading takes — follows from it.
Twenty-six standard pallets fit on the floor of a 53-footer, fifty-two if the freight can be stacked. That number decides between a full truckload and a partial load, and it is the first question the dispatcher will ask you.
What damages a pallet in transit is almost never the road: it is insufficient wrapping or a load left free to move. A trailer loaded three-quarters full gets braced, otherwise the freight travels to the door on the first hard brake.
- Pallet count and footprint confirmed before the price
- Partial loads braced to stop shifting
- Trailer sealed at origin, seal number on the bill of lading
- Signed proof of delivery, filed
