A container spends most of its journey without us. What we cover is the last few kilometres — and that is where the days get lost.
Nothing moves until the container is released by customs and by the steamship line, and until an appointment is secured at the terminal. Sending a truck before both conditions are met is paying for waiting time.
Then free time starts running. Free days on the container and on the chassis run out fast, and detention charges land every day after that. We set the unloading date and the empty return as soon as we take the file, not after the first charge notice.
